On stage, with the 4 of them, it needed to be done to fill some of the void left by no keys, but it was a bit tiring in places.

Aye, Porl's certainly does sound thin and wafery for what it is. Its a semi-acoustic, should be BIG and uncompromising.
Perry's guitars on the whole sounded better. Im glad Simon sticks with the Thunderbird and not that Schecter bass in the adverts.
I think Robert's guitar is alright though, like shaking*like*milk said, when you play em with no effects, they sound really nice. Bob don't do it justice onstage.
