To be fair, they still put on a great show without him.
Gilmour is still a class guitar player & can sing too.
Saw the show that ended up as Pulse & thought it was amazing. Was a bit squiffy at the time though.
However, they did seem to play from the wallet rather than the heart.

As for Roger Waters, I think you ought to take a listen to Amused to Death very carefully.

Saw him in Budapest a couple of years ago & he was sensational.
Now, he did play from the heart.
