A Toronto band that hit it big during the late 70's and early 80's, Rough Trade consisted of Carole Pope and Kevin Staples. Considered to be too lewd and too brash, they found their many fans in the underground music scene and were huge in Canada, leaving their mark on new wave from their fashion choices to music sound and controversial lyrics. "Highschool Confidential" was a huge hit. Does anyone remember them?

I wasn't sure if they were strictly big in the Canadian music scene - obviously they were! I don't know too many bands back then that had their songs censored or banned from radio's. Still looking back, I don't know what the big deal was considering what Rap gets away with today! LOL!
