News about Porl?

Hi all,
I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything about Porls departure?
I thought that maybe some of you had met Robert or the other guys at the Reflections concerts and asked about Porl?
It is quite strange that nothing has come out. Robert has always (in some way) commented on bandmembers leaving. But not this time. Maybe there is something more to it this time..? Sure hope Porl is okay...

Someone here said that they ran into him recently while shopping, and he seemed to be doing fine:

Turns out he actually lives in my home town so I'll keep an eye out for him and maybe if I bump into him again I'll get the nerve up to ask

It's pretty obvious that he's not in the band don't you think? He could be excused for Reflections due to the nature of those shows, and it's possible maybe there was another reason why he couldn't make the one-off Bestival. But he's not in their recent promo images for the festival tour this summer, so surely Porl's out and Roger's in.

I think the question was less "is he still in the band?" and more "does anyone know why not?" To which no-one knows the answer ...

Yes, Debora, you understand my question right. If you meet him perhaps you could ask him? If the circimstances are right of course...

Why Porl is no longer there is open to many speculations, so it would be interesting to know the true story. Not because I think that fans have a right to know about everything, but because it could indicate where Robert wants to take the band musically in the near future. If Porl left to focus on his painting (like in 92) it may say nothing about the bands future, but imagine that Robert grew tired of the "rock n`roll-all-guitars-wah-wah-feedback"-thing and told Porl it was over. THAT would tell where Robert wants to go concerning the new album. It would (as I see it) indicate that he wants to go to something more quiet and introspective. Asking Roger to rejoin with his keyboards could point in that direction too. But I am only guessing here! There could be a million other reasons. Maybe they fell out with each other - which would be quite sad given their family relations.
Anyway, I think it is very strange that nobody seems to have heard anything.
Like Dannyk says Porl could be "excused" for the Reflections show and possibly even Bestival, but we now know that he is not in the band anymore. Wonder why.....

Who was it on this board that said the spent a semester in England, and they lived near Simon and he casually mentioned that Porl wasn't in the band anymore?
